Chidambaram and Congress' rajneeti of corruption

As the nail-biting finale to the INX Media corruption case is drawing near, another episode of the sordid corruption saga of Congress is coming to passe. While the ex-FM and ex-HM went missing and CBI and ED are in hot pursuit, the drama in political space is no less than a Bollywood potboiler. A battery of Congressmen-lawyars are going from pillar to post in Supreme Court in order to save one of their own from the ignominy of jail.
While the lawyers mouth high sounding words such as constitutional principles and right to bail, one is reminded of the senseless loot of the taxpayers' money and natural resources by suave, glib-talking well-dressed congressmen.
Starting from their boss , mini- boss and the boss-in-law to the underlings of the kitchen advisors, all partook of the national exchequer as if it belonged to their forefathers.
Mr Chidambaram, an astute lawyer that he is had resorted to the rigmarole of arms length corruption; he is there but he is not there. Finally when after a painstaking investigation spanning several countries the CBI and the ED eventually was able to nail the father-son duo and when the mighty former FM refused to cooperate then only the agencies moved for custodial interrogation. But in his case it seems like the due process of law is being stretched to its limit.
Similar was the situation in National Herald take over case where the Gandhis were forced to appear before the court and request bail.
People should remember the dozen a day scams during the decade of UPA rule which cost them the election. 2G, CWG, Augusta, Coal Scam and many more.
Now that the Modi Govt had given the agencies a free hand and they are doing their duty, the tainted congressis are crying vendetta.
The fact of the matter is,  a new age of accountability has dawned and nobody who has indulged in any wrong doing would be spared. Better be prepared to face the music than cry wolf.

Art 370 and Security Council Rajneeti

Pakistan and China' s rant after a closed door informal consultation of the Security Council on Jammu and Kashmir issue is nothing but  letting out frustration. While the international community refused to condemn the act of India in scrapping Art 370 of our constitution, Pakistan and it's partner in crime China have their own domestic compulsions to keep Kashmir issue alive. Hence they want the world to believe what is clearly a national statement of China(that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute) as the voice of the Security Council. Neither India and Pakistan were not present at the meeting. India has firmly refuted the stand of China.

Domestic politics around the sensitive Article 370 have led us to believe that if we take care of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh things will be all right. No doubt it will improve conditions of Kashmiri and help integrate them with rest of India.  Pakistan and China will also aggravate their hostilities.
Both the nations have a vested interest in not solving the K problem. Pakistan's survival as a nation depends on the premise that the need for the Army is to get back India held Kashmir and to punish India for taking away large part of the state. China's compulsion is to somehow legitimise it's territorial grab in Tibet and Ladakh by designating it as disputed territories. Hence the Kashmir question would remain on the burner for some time even after the situation in the valley returns to normal.

Those opposing the modification of Art 370 for narrow political posturing are becoming a propaganda tool in the hands of these nations.
The historic blunder of taking the matter to UN( December 1947) have been nullified by the Shimla Agreement 1972. Hence while Kashmir remains a bilateral issue, what we do with our part is purely internal and has no external ramifications. The only issue that remains is how to get back POK. While both Pakistan and China have changed the territorial status of their part of Kashmir unilaterally, it is ridiculous to raise the issue on the same basis . They simply have no locus standi.
People of the country should know that by abrogating Art 370 Govt has enhanced the legitimacy of POK and Aksai Chin as our territory. That is the real reason of China and Pak's concern, not well-being of Kashmiris.

Leadership lessons from Atal Ji

हार नहीं मानूंगा, रार नहीं ठानूंगा,
काल के कपाल पे लिखता मिटाता हूं
गीत नया गाता हूं

Perhaps no other description can encapsulate the personality of Atal Ji better than these few lines. A leader who focused only on leading, in victory and in defeat, in ups and downs and in happiness and despair. A leader who threw away the Prime Minister’s post just to prove a point that he believed in democracy and wouldn’t manipulate even a single vote in Parliament. A leader who never said quits in the face of seemingly impossible odds. A person who never became bitter in the face of betrayal and did what he had to do as can be seen during Kargil crisis. A leader who changed the paradigm of development and meaning of welfare state with a massive orbit shift in Government spending in infrastructure and innovative ways of raising resources. A leader who firmly stood for the plurality of India while emphasizing the oneness of its underlying dharma. A leader who was mild in manner, like wild fire in oratory and steadfast in resolve to make India an equal player with other powers on the world stage.
His leadership was based on tradition, trust, resolve, commitment and empathy. He was a believer that the underlying bedrock of Bharatiya Samskriti is strong enough to deliver the required political, social and economic growth based on its dharmic principles. One can not refrain from calling him a poet-philosopher king, a Rajarshi.
If we can emulate him a little, this country will have no crisis of leadership. On his death anniversary I salute his undying faith in the abilities of our nation.

Jai Hind.

73rd Independence Day

Today is the 73rd anniversary of our freedom from the British Raj. In popular discourse, people are given to understand that India that is Bharat became a nation only after August 15, 1947 and before that we did not exist as a Nation. This completely wrong and motivated idea was planted in our minds by the so called left liberal historians and self-seeking politicians. By inventing a weird definition of “Secularism” which is in no way comparable to the western idea from which it is supposed to have flown, a vote bank polity was created by banishing all religious teachings from educational institutions. So our kids do not read Ramayana, Mahabharata or Bhagavat Gita in schools and grow up as “Seculars” meaning bereft of any tradition and culture.
Today is the day we should remember as a day when in 1947 there was only a transfer of power from the British to Indian hands. The Nation as such was there and will continue to be there with all its civilizational values. We are a civilizational nation which means within the broad Sanatana Parampara there could be varied cultural currents all feeding from the same principles and all enriching the same culture. India is the only continuing civilization out of the 45 odd that the planet has seen.
Today we are especially happy since we have, of late, been able to take tough decisions as a Nation and have projected both our hard and soft power on the world stage. As an aspiring $5 Trillion  economy and a space superpower, we have to bring up the bottom half of our people to a decent standard of living.
We have started building our nation on our principles for the past five years and a solid foundation has been laid for future development. This development will be on the principles of antodaya, samajik samarasata and our way of growth.

वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम is our mantra and सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः is our motto.

 Jai Hind.

Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
